It’s always nice to add a child to your family as a parent, especially if you do it with someone you love and agree with. From the time they married in 2012 to now, Alec Baldwin and Hilaria have been adding to their family.
In 2011, Alec Baldwin met his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, and they got married the following year, in 2012. They didn’t wait long to start a family; in 2013, they had their first child. After that, they had four more children together and a sixth kid through a surrogate.

They told everyone in April 2021 that they would have their seventh child together. Everyone was thrilled for them and glad they continued growing their wonderful family.
Hilaria shared the happy news on her Instagram account that her daughter was born. “She’s here!” she wrote under a bunch of photos and videos she shared on her page. We can’t wait to show you our little dream come true, Irena Ilaria Catalina Ilaria.
If you count Alec Baldwin’s children with his first wife, Hilaria, this is his eighth child overall. His ex-wife Kim Basinger and he have a daughter together, Ireland Baldwin.
Hilaria talked about the newest member of her and Alec’s family in the Instagram post described above. Their girl was born on September 22, 2022, and weighed 6 pounds and 13 ounces, she wrote. “She and I are both happy and healthy,” she said.
Then she wrote in another post that her other children are thrilled about their new family member: “Her Baldwinito siblings are spending the day bonding and welcoming her into our home.”
“Much love to you all,” she wrote at the end of the text. We’re so thrilled to share this great news with you.
The couple told People Magazine about the birth of their daughter, saying, “How grateful we are to welcome our newest little daughter into the world.” As beautiful and full of love as all the other children we have been lucky enough to have.

Even though the couple loves their family very much, Hilaria Baldwin recently said that some people don’t understand why their family is so… big.
In a recent post, she said, “7th baby: when people ask or comment, we often make silly, self-deprecating jokes.” It’s okay. I like laughing at myself, and it keeps me sane. Despite the jokes, I’m thankful for this experience.
“I know too well the joys and the losses, the beauty and the heartache that motherhood brings,” she explained further. I’ve learned to appreciate and welcome the good, the bad, the awkward, the magical, and the unknown parts of this unique process that I repeatedly go through.
It’s clear that the couple is happy with their family and their new baby, but not everyone sends them congratulations. Some people had a lot to say about the name Ilaria Catalina Irena Baldwin Baldwin.

Hilaria and Alec Baldwin are known for giving their children unusual names, often ones from Spain. There was a lot of debate in 2020 when it came out that Hilaria wasn’t Spanish and that she was using a fake Spanish voice and lying about her background. People were surprised by the name they chose for their seventh child.
“Why is it okay for her to try so hard to be Spanish? It’s annoying.” Why does she try again and again? Someone wrote, “Have they let it get to their heads that much?”
Someone else on Twitter said, “Fake Spanish name from mom born in Boston,” and someone else said, “Hilaria and Alec Baldwin had their seventh child.” “Not a single American name, not even a given name.”
“The idea that Alec Baldwin’s wife is pretending to be Spanish is crazy”, said a third. She changed her name from Hillary to Hilaria and gave all seven of their children names with those roots.
She also pretended to forget the English word for “cucumber” and put on an accent. “She should have changed her name to funny instead.” A few people did say that Ilaria is the Italian word for “Hilary.” It was one of the most common Italian girl names in 2006, meaning “happy.”
